  • Long Presentations
  • Infographic Poster

In addition to the sessions, this year we are introducing an Infographic Posters section to the conference.

There will be a number of training and workshops sessions for the 1st day of the Moot (Feb 18th) but these are being organised centrally. If you have any ideas you may wish to contribute or would like to volunteer to help at the pre-conference training workshops, please email info@moodlemoot.ie

Short Presentations

These presentations will last no more than 17 minutes and will be grouped together in threes to facilitate a greater movement and choice between streams.

The Question and answers for the three presentations will be held at after the third presentation.

Where possible these presentations will be grouped on a related topic / sector.

Format of Submission

Submissions should be the abstract of the presentation and/or the full paper / presentation.

Long Presentations

These presentations will last no more than 25 minutes and will be grouped together in twos to facilitate a greater movement and choice between streams.

The Question and Answers for the two presentations will be held at after the second presentation.

Format of Submission

Submissions should be the abstract of the presentation and/or the full paper / presentation.

Pecha Kucha

After the success of the Pecha Kucha sessions in the last Dublin Moot, we will now be accepting proposals in the main call for submissions.

Pecha Kucha is a short presentation style – just 6 minutes 40 seconds long consisting of 20 slides giving 20 seconds to each slide so that the slides auto-forward to the next one. This format will need to be adhered to for submissions.

Format of Submission

Submissions should be the abstract of the presentation and/or the full 20 slides of the presentation.

Infographic Posters

The topic of the poster should be geared towards helping people adopt or use an aspect of Moodle, for example

  • How to use a forum for group discussions
  • From files to participation – make Moodle constructive
  • A Plugin you can’t live without – sell your favorite plugin

We will do a blog post with some recommended reading / useful links regarding infographics in coming days.

Format of Submission

Submissions at this point need at least to be the abstract describing the contents of the poster and the approach taken.A draft/final version of the infographic can optionally be submitted with the abstract.

The final submission will need to be submitted as a PDF. It should be formatted as a one-sided colour A1 poster.

By submitting, the author authors agree that they or their employer retain copyright, but that the poster should be licensed so that others can re-use it freely non-commercially (for example with creative commons) but the exact license is up to the person submitting.

Please note the organisers will need full distribution rights to distribute it electronically as the goal will be to publish an e-book capturing all the accepted poster submissions for the moot.

Those which are accepted will be required to provide the finalised printed version and updated PDF by a deadline near the conference dates.

Prize

A prize will be awarded to the Infographic Poster receiving the highest rating from the judging panel.
