Pearson is the world’s leading education company, offering collaborative teaching and learning solutions for on-campus, online, and blended learning environments. Our digital repository, EQUELLA, provides one system to house your teaching and learning, research, media and library content.
EQUELLA and Moodle developers have worked closely together to develop the Repository API and plugin for storing and reusing files within a Moodle resource.
Enhanced EQUELLA and Moodle Integration
The collaboration between the EQUELLA and Moodle Development teams has produced an enhanced EQUELLA and Moodle integration that enables learners and instructors within the Moodle community to natively select EQUELLA content and populate it into their course structure.
The EQUELLA team is continuing to work with Martin Dougiamas and his team at Moodle HQ to enhance the integration. To aid in this process, we are strengthening our in-house Moodle capabilities through key appointments, such as the addition of former Moodle PHP & iOS Developer, Dongsheng Cai.
With EQUELLA and Moodle users can benefit from:
• Central storage of content that removes duplicates and assists in version control
• Content that is tagged according to metadata standards for easy search and retrieval
• Permission model that grants and restricts access to users/groups and role of users
• Managing the full lifecycle of the content, which can be archived and re-drafted
• Reports on usage within the system, based on users and content access
EQUELLA introduces advanced integration capabilities with Moodle 2.3. Explore the integration that combines the content stored in EQUELLA with the power of Moodle in this video.
Simon Wilkinson, EQUELLA Director of Product Management, and Martin Dougiamas, Executive Director of Moodle, presented on the new developments to the EQUELLA and Moodle integration at MoodleMoot AU 2012, watch the video here.
EQUELLA and Moodle Workshop
Institutions of all shapes and sizes are now seeking a solution to manage files with Moodle. EQUELLA and Moodle developers have worked closely together to develop the Repository API and plugin for storing and reusing files within a Moodle resource.
New developments to the EQUELLA and Moodle integration also allow users to drag and drop content directly into EQUELLA via the Moodle course page.
During this workshop, we will explore the new capabilities for the integrated platform.
