Submissions

Take five minutes and submit your idea now

Maybe it's a project you've completed, or something you are still working on. Sharing with the community gives you the opportunity to showcase what you have been doing, and learning and also get feedback from others in the same boat.

The MoodleMoot’s success depends on the community presentations and contributions. This year we have the usual presentation types available for you under which to submit your idea. These are:

  • Long presentation
  • Short presentation
  • Lightning Presentations
  • Poster Presentation

These are in addition to the panels, workshops, and keynotes which get recommended to us by the community.

Submission Formats

Short Presentations

Short Description

These presentations will last no more than 15 minutes and will be grouped together in threes to facilitate a greater movement and choice between streams. Questions and Answers for each presentation will be held directly after each presentation. Where possible, these presentations will be grouped on a related topic / sector.

Format of short presentation submissions

Submissions should be an abstract of the presentation.

Final and full submission of the accepted presentation / paper will be required in advance of the conference to facilitate the publication of a proceedings booklet.

Long Presentations

Long Description

These presentations will last no more than 25 minutes and will be grouped together in twos to facilitate a greater movement and choice between streams. Questions and Answers for each presentation will be held directly after each presentation. This format will generally be reserved for research based submissions.

Format of long presentation submissions

Submissions should be an abstract of the presentation. Final and full submission of the accepted presentation / paper will be required in advance of the conference to facilitate the publication of a proceedings booklet.

Lightning Talks

Lightning Description

Lightning Talks are a short presentation style – just 5 minutes long, ideally consisting of 15 slides, giving 20 seconds to each slide so that the slides auto-forward to the next one.

Format of Lightning submissions

Submissions should be an abstract of the presentation. Final and full submission of the accepted presentation will be required in advance of the conference to facilitate the publication of a proceedings booklet.

Posters & Connect & Converse

Posters Description

This year, we aim to have the posters on display throughout the conference and also have a new Connect and Converse session where the poster creators will have an opportunity to discuss their poster with attendees in small groups which rotate through the posters. This small group technique provides for a greater level of feedback and enquiry.

Format of Poster submission

Submissions at this point need to be the abstract describing the contents of the poster and the approach taken. A link to a draft/final version of the infographic can optionally be submitted with the abstract. The final submission will need to be submitted as a PDF. It should be formatted as a one-sided colour A1 poster.

By submitting, the author authors agree that they or their employer retain copyright, but that the poster should be licensed so that others can re-use it freely non-commercially (for example with creative commons) but the exact license is up to the person submitting.

Please note that the organisers will need full distribution rights to distribute it electronically as the goal will be to publish an e-book capturing all the accepted poster submissions for the Moodlemoot.

Those which are accepted will be required to provide the finalised printed version and updated PDF by a deadline near the conference dates.

Submission Tracks

This year we have five different tracks that you can choose to submit your presentation to. These are:

  1. Further / Higher Education
  2. Reflective Practice
  3. Workplace of Corporate Learning
  4. Professional Development
  5. Moodle Development
