Welcome to the UK & Ireland Moodlemoot Online!

    MootIEUK hashtag

The site has now woken up!

All attendees should have gained access and be able to log in.

If for some reason you don’t have access, please check your spam/junk folder as your registration email may have ended up in there! If it is not there, you should still be able to log into the MootIEUK site by resetting your password with your registered email address.

Please contact marketing@moodlemoot.ie if you have any other issues. We are here to help!

Now, let's get started, shall we?

    Course enrolments & notifications

Everyone is enrolled in all courses so we can use the course overview on the dashboard so you can filter!

If you do not want email or mobile notifications when a course owner posts an announcement – you can manage your notifications in your user account notification preferences.

Presentations, Presentations and even more Presentations

On the Moodlemoot platform, you now have access to over 50 on-demand presentations! Both interviews with our keynote speakers, Dr Sharon Flynn and Dr. Dara Cassidy are also available to stream on-demand from today onwards! These will be available for the duration of the three days and for one month afterwards. These are available via the course-overview on your Dashboard.

For the presentations, you can filter by topic on the dropdown menu on the top left of your dashboard in the “course overview”. Thanks to all those who have pre-recorded their sessions, and to those who haven’t you can send us your video recording and we will add it to the site!

Use #MootIEUK to start a conversation on Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn, and recommend a presentation that you really enjoyed!

    Workshops, workshops, workshops!!!

From our twitter poll, it looks like you are most looking forward to Monday’s workshops. Well, we have exciting news, workshop sign-ups are now open for those with the 3 day ticket!

Check out the lists of topics and their descriptions and sign-up for the morning or afternoon session. Please note, if you would like to do the Moodle HQ MEC workshop – you must take a pre-test. All info is in the Workshop Signup course!

Sign-up quick before the spaces are gone! But don’t worry if you don’t have one selected, there will be a good selection available too.

    Visit our Sponsors!

We are delighted to have such a wonderful group of sponsors for this year’s online Moodlemoot. We have 20 sponsors who specialise in a range of areas. The sponsor booths will be open tomorrow! Please take time to check them out, chat with the representatives, ask them what they are presenting on, or organise a demo!

    Panels

This Tuesday and Wednesday, we will be hosting 6 live panels! The sessions fall under the following topics:

    • Scaling eLearning in the time of a Pandemic
    • ePortfolios and Moodle
    • Accessibility for Online Services
    • Academic Integrity of Assessment
    • Asynchronous Teaching and Learning
    • Staff Professional Development

Did a certain subject catch your eye? Click on that panel course and submit your questions. Your pre-submitted questions will be answered by a panel of experts during the live session.

    Open Mics!

These are unconference-like sessions, where a set topic is chosen for the 60 minute session. The goal is to create a point of contact for listeners and the speaker. Attendees can also “volunteer for the session” to contribute or share for 2-3 minutes of their own experience on the topic or pose a question for the attendees. Be sure to volunteer for topics around what you have presented – we should get through 15-20 in the session.

"Meet the Expert / Topics" Format meetings

These meetings run in parallel to the panels and open microphones and are open Q&A discussions around the topic – for example, we have someone from the Moodle User Association there to help explain about it during that session!

If you have questions drop by – or if feel you can help answer questions on that topic – also drop by!

A Message from the Moodlemoot Team

This is not the Moodlemoot we all planned to attend in April in Dublin. We had hoped to welcome you to lovely spring sunshine over the Liffey. However, we have all found ourselves in the middle of a global crisis and we have to adapt. We hope you like this new format – a hybrid online Moodle conference and understand that it’s necessary to keep us all safe during these troubling times.

Enjoy the next few days, there are many great presentations to watch, and panels, open mics to contribute to.

    Keep safe

    Gavin and the team.
